A Poco X3 suddenly exploded while charging the battery. After an investigation, Xiaomi believes that the smartphone battery has been damaged by an external cause. For his part, the owner of the phone ensures that the Poco X3 had not suffered any damage before the explosion. He threatens to bring the case to justice.
On the photos uploaded, we realize that the battery caught fire, destroying the polycarbonate back and the touch screen. The back surface has visibly melted. In order to obtain an explanation, the user contacted the customer service department of Poco , a subsidiary of the giant Xiaomi.
POCO ACCUSES USER OF DAMAGING THE BATTERY
The Chinese brand promptly launched an investigation into the incident. “Currently our team is investigating this case to determine the cause. Based on our initial investigation, the damage was caused by an outside force. It is evident from the photos that someone pierced the battery, which led to the fire, ” Poco explains on Twitter. For the manufacturer, the battery was severely damaged before recharging . The complaint lodged was therefore classified under the mention “damage caused by the customer”.
In response to the brand, Aryan Gupta RJ firmly denies having damaged the Poco X3. He believes that the smartphone overheated while charging, causing the fire. According to him, the terminal handles the increase in temperature very poorly . Several Poco X3 users agree on Twitter.
Despite the user’s assertions, Poco continues, “We sincerely ask all users NOT to puncture or damage the battery or apply external force to the phone. This could cause the battery to burn ” . Annoyed by customer service, Aryan Gupta RJ threatens to drag Poco to Indian consumer court. It is a specialized tribunal dealing with disputes between consumers and brands. For now, no agreement has been reached between Poco and the user.
