Jeff Bezos and three other crew members will embark this Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in the New Shepard spacecraft from Blue Origin, the aerospace company of the former CEO of Amazon. We explain how not to miss anything from this new stage in the race for the stars.
While billionaire Richard Branson left to admire the stars on July 11 , it’s the turn of Jeff Bezos , the former big boss of Amazon, to go into space aboard the New Shepard spacecraft , designed by his aerospace company Blue Origin. Of course, the founder of the e-commerce giant will not be alone on this trip. He will be accompanied by his brother Mark Bezos, but also by Wally Funk, an 82-year-old aviation legend who had to go into space in the 1960s with the Mercury 13 program.
Unfortunately, the American government had preferred to cancel this operation, effectively depriving this veteran of a tour in space. She will finally be able to see the stars more closely thanks to Jeff Bezos. The last participant is none other than Olivier Daemen, a Dutch student. The four amateur astronauts will fly over the Karman Line for a ten-minute flight over 100 kilometers from Earth.
The spread of this major event will start at 2:30 p.m. . The official Blue Origin YouTube channel will broadcast the final preparations before takeoff, the opportunity to witness the boarding of passengers before the big departure to space. Of course, the operation will also be broadcast on numerous 24-hour news channels such as BFM TV . Note that you can also go to Blue Origin’s social networks to watch the ship take off.
